Birthday Party=Body Aches

Amber wanted a birthday party since she claimed she never had a real one with friends instead of family. She saved her money to rent a place called The Rock House. She went ahead and bought confetti, streamers, lots of food and a large 1/2 sheet spiderman cake. Amber and Patrick downloaded what seemed like hundreds of songs onto their XBox 360 so they could listen to music. They packed up her TV, speakers, amp, xbox, and her computer yesterday morning. It was storming...(should have been a HUGE clue)...and went on to The Rock House. After what seemed like hours, the people finally stating coming...(it was from 11am-11pm)...and the music started....LOUDLY!!!! No rain for a while, but after all the confetti was on the floor the rain arrived, in buckets, and the gutters hadn't been cleaned out, so the water flooded the stairs and landing, going into the room. We ended up with a huge mess on our hands. Who knew that confetti would stick to wooden floors and track onto concrete? After sweeping for what ended up being almost 5 hours, I finally got it under control. Amber had a blast. I did learn something about teenagers and their dancing habits....if the lights are on and it's light, they won't dance, but turn out lights and they think they're in the dark and dance away. We got home a little before midnight and I crashed. I dreamt about confetti falling from the sky and it was my job to sweep it all up in a severe thunderstorm and tornado warning, and when I couldn't kids would play music loud and laugh. Thank goodness no more birthday parties for a year. I still have to go back tomorrow morning and wax the floors before I turn the key back in to City Hall. (I'm gonna tell them those gutters need cleaned out!)
