Coulda Fooled Me

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I thought that having the 2 boys in school and Amber at work would help me out here at home. Seems like everytime I had finished housework it would look like a tornado came through five minutes later...sorta like the "I Love Lucy" episode where Ricky comes home and destroys the clean living room within minutes and Lucy comes out appalled at how it looks. Well, I've figured something out. I thought that it was me, just forgetting to tell them to put their things up, but no, it's not me. Here's how it goes...I leave at 3:40 to pick up Patrick while he is walking from the busstop, and then drive the 6 miles to pick up Amber from work, and then drive the 6 miles back. In the meantime, Kendal has brought Brian home and left to go home herself. Now when I get home, there's usually a message for Summer to call Patrick, so his stuff, if he's brought it home, goes on the floor in the living room, because he can't walk it in the bedroom where he's going with the phone. Brian's extra shirt and hat are on the kitchen counter or the dining room table. Amber, on her way to her room, puts her McDonald's drink on the kitchen counter, drops her purse on the dining room table along with her McDonald's hat, and any clothes she has taken off is put there too. She then proceeds to her room where she turns on the computer and her music. I come into the house after taking out Ms. Hurricane and find the mess and would go into the bedrooms and tell them to get their stuff, which would have to be repeated 10 times. I finally had had enough. I took their stuff and threw it into the bedrooms eliciting a surprised scream of, "Why didn't you ask?" or "Why'd you do that for?". It really surprised them one day when I let out a frustrated scream to the entire house, "I have had enough!!!" They came out and asked what was wrong, (this was after I had already thrown the stuff in their rooms), and told me to calm down. I told them I was tired of picking up after them. They said their stuff wasn't out here, but in their rooms, so what was the big deal? I threw my hands up in the air and went outside. For having 3 smart children...19,18,16....I thought they were smarter...coulda fooled me!!!
