The Last Hurrah???

For the last 2 weeks I have been following the trends on the weather board. When the storm first came on the models it was a dream storm....but then the storm all winter were dream storms 2 weeks out. This one stayed, would get weaker, change the spot where the most snow would fall, would come back, but it was still there. For the last 4 days I had been on the computer alot...learning alot, asking questions, and fearing the worst. Last night Amber told me that we were only going to get a rainstorm, Patrick knew he was going to school, but then came the phone call at 5:30, or thereabouts, saying that school was cancelled for the day due to snow falling and the snow to still come. Well, I turned on the porch light to see about 1 1/2" out there. We ended up with 6" by the time Amber and I decided to take a walk to the pond. Took our pictures, goofed off, threw snowballs at each other, and then her bright idea of going up the mountain to the house instead of walking around the way we came. She went behind me, just in case I fell, I guess she was there to cushion my fall! The very first few steps looked like I was doing the splits, my legs getting further and further away from each other. Then we started walking up...Amber recording me, exclaiming, "We're gonna die!" Then we get to almost the top. The dogs are barking, I'm almost out of breath. I think I'm gonna pass out. I take the one step up, feet slip out from under me and I'm sliding down. I climb back and get to where I was before. I grab ahold of a small tree, pull myself up and promptly fall on my face, sliding down again. I finally get up on my knees and pull myself up and grab ahold of the dog's cage to finish pulling myself up. Then I took a good look at why Amber was laughing herself silly....mud and dirt down my pants, my jacket. I took the jacket off as soon as I got into the house and Hurricane decided she had to hurry and lick the jacket off and Amber hurried and took a picture...I decided to pose while laughing.....there are some more pics that I took from the kitchen window showcasing my African Violets and Purple Passion plant. There is another storm around St. Patrick's Day, but I personally think these 7" were the last hurrah!
