Today, I realized that no matter how old you get there are still things that make you sound or act like a little kid. The obvious is laughing hysterically at something you think is funny while someone is looking at you like you're nuts and need to be committed to a place that has rubber walls. What I didn't realize is when you say the words "fire ants" to Amber, that she runs and screams like they are attacking her body. I simply told her today that "there's a line of fire ants here." The next thing I know she jumps and screams so loud that I think the people in the next county could hear her. I told her that it's only a line of fire ants, and she jumped again, twisted her foot, almost fell in all the mud and took off running. In fact, I think if she would have ran a tad bit faster, she might have been a good contender in the Boston Marathon. Secretly laughing to myself, I thought back to when she used to run track...she would be the last one on the track and members of both teams would be yelling..."Come on Amber, you can do it. Go, Amber, Go!" It was a really mean thought that ran through my head, but could you imagine how fast she would have been in I would have just yelled..."Hey, Amber, there's fire ants around you!"
