Patrick's Award

The awards ceremony was drawing closer and they said all Senior would be getting notified if they were getting an award so we waited and waited and nothing. Patrick thought for sure that he would be getting one for guitar because his teacher had said he was one of the best ones and one of the ones who really took it seriously. Finally on the Monday before the awards he told me he would be getting one, but that it was no big deal and for me not to come. Yeah, like that was really gonna happen. Amber and I arrived and noticed that there wasn't a lot of people, but then it was on a Thursday morning when most people were at work. After a few special awards the principal came up and told everyone to listen for their name because it wouldn't be in alphabetical order, and it wouldn't be according to class. Well after 10 names were called I realized it was in alphabetical order, but by first name, not last. It took a long time for them to get to the "P's". They called his name for Guitar 2 and he got a medal for it...looks like an olympic medal...and he was the only one that kids stood up for, cheering. Congrats, Patrick, you worked hard to get this award....keep it up, I know you'll go far!
