Happy Birthday Dad

Happy Birthday Dad.....I got to thinking the other day about your upcoming birthday and how strange it was that I couldn't be there. I know I haven't been to a lot of your birthdays, but I knew that I was close by in case I could get away from work, home, or what have you, just to come up and say, "I love you Dad, Happy Birthday." Being so far away all I have is "what could be" if I were there. Instead I sat on the porch before calling you today and remembered the birthdays we had together, both yours and mine, all of our family's really. You always made sure we had a good day, lots of laughing, joking, and when the time came to open the presents, we were more than ready. I hope this birthday brings you the joy you gave me, the happiness you put into my soul, and all the love I ever received all rolled up into one big package.
