HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY DAD...I LOVE YOU!!!

MySpace Comments - Happy Birthday

Today is my Dad's 60th birthday. I don't tell him enough that I love him, but he had such an incredible impact on my life, that sometimes when I think back, the memories overwhelm me. He would take our family, my sisters Trisha and Tracy and my mom, on random trips, with never a thought of where we were going, we'd just go. We'd always have a good time, no matter where we went. We were big on family. He showed us family was something you could always count on, no matter what the problem. When you think of Dad's usually you think of them playing baseball or football in the backyard. Well my Dad spent his spare time helping us with school projects, building things for us, sewing dresses for us girls, and working to make our lives happy. He never complained when we'd come home and tell him a project was due the next day, or ask him to help us at the last second. He'd gladly put aside what he was doing, get what he needed and start helping with the project. I had alot of books when I was a teenager, and had ran out of room on where to store them. Instead of him telling me to get rid of them, he built shelves around my dresser so I could hold most of them there. My Dad would sit around on Saturdays and Sundays, when we didn't do anything, and we'd watch cooking shows or home and garden shows, or we'd play games like Monopoly and Life. Outside we'd play croquet, and he never complained when, one summer break my sisters and I set up the croquet set and left it in the yard all summer while we played. We would pick up the wicks so he could mow, but then we'd hurry and put them back...we had the best layout for slamming my sister Trisha's ball into the neighbor's bouganvilla bush, and that bush was huge! He has a great sense of humor and I have him to thank for mine. I want him to know that he is, in my opinion, the best father in the world, and I wouldn't trade him for anyone. I love you very much Dad, and I hope this birthday you'll find more joy and happiness. I wish I could be there to watch you blow your candles out, but I guess I'll be sitting here wishing you the best instead. We love you very much, Dad...Happy Birthday!
