Two Things I've Learned

I've learned 2 things over the last 2 days....
#1, just when you think you know your kids, you're proven wrong. Take last night for example...Patrick and I are sitting in the living room and we think we hear Danny's truck coming down the dirt road...well, we wait and wait and wait...it never comes, but you can still hear a truck out there. Then, into the driveway, comes a tow truck with a purple Kawasaki 750 strapped to the back. The first thing that popped into my head is that Danny traded in the pickup truck for a motorcycle...and I was about to get really ticked off!!! Then I see Brian get out of the tow truck with a goofy looking grin on his face. The bike is his....it needs a rebuilt carbuerator, somewhere there's an oil leak he's gonna have to fix, new tires, new battery. He says he got it so Danny can ride it and Danny can teach him...then in the next breath he tells me that, get this..."It flies!!!" Just what this mom wants to hear! Right now it's sitting in the dirt with a huge oil leak under it, all the while, leaking more. He's happy as a clam.
#2, when you have CNN on TV, don't doze off. I'm sitting in the living room after Danny and Brian leave for work and CNN is on where Danny left it. I was gonna get up and change over to Wings and Cheers, but I was interested in the story that was on. The next thing I know is that I'm walking down through a store that has fishing rods and reels and I'm picking up 2 of them. Keiran, from CNN, is walking with me and we're talking about sting rays, manta rays, and how it's a shame people are killing them. We then start talking about how Mom and Pop, (Danny's Mom and Dad), lived on an inlet in N.C. that reminded me of one of those scary movies with fog rolling in and the women are all screaming and get into the water and then die! Anyhow, we would catch huge fish there and the lady from CNN was saying that fishing is always good on dead ended inlets. Next we're in the baby section of the store and looking at how they have one piece jumpers and clothing that now has extra fabric to fit better and won't get all wet if the baby's diaper is super wet..(I thought that was cool)...the lady from CNN is pregnant...then we were in an oil field and making gasoline and the prices were astronomical!!!! I had just filled up my HUM-V with $25.67 a gallon premium gasoline when the phone rang and woke me up. I only dozed for about 10 minutes, but it seemed like forever. Let me just say that I won't be leaving the t.v. on again if I'm dozing off!
