All this weekend, through cooking turkey, dozens and dozens of cookies, brownies, ham, biscuits and gravy, and then cleaning it up, I kept an eye on my computer site... forums.accuweather.com and saw they were talking about a storm coming through the northeast and the midatlantic around the first of December. Well, the forecast went back and forth, the models weren't coming together right and no one knew where it was going to head. Everyone kept saying, "Too warm, no snow will come your way, you'll be lucky if you see a few flakes before it turns to rain again." Well last night before 11, they put out a winter weather advisory and said it was precautionary. This morning I noticed that we had some sleet during the night. At 6:05 the school board made the decision to shut down the 5 schools in the county so the kids had one more day off....they'd already had the week of Thanksgiving off, so now they're bored! At 7 it was icy and at 7:10 it was snowing when we left to take Danny and Amber to work. Taking Amber was fun. No snow, and then you could see it coming and getting harder. We started at a trace and was about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch by the time we got her to McDonald's. There's no snow sticking on the ground here at home, but still blowing in. Hopefully this winter will be full of surprises. The two pics were taken off her cell phone.
