Today we say good-bye to a very good 17-year-old named Justin Cox. He was full of life and laughter, always had some funny remark to say. He would come over here sometimes in the morning with Kendal to pick up Brian or when they would drop him off and would fling his shoes, sit down, and say, "Hey Mom, can I have a Sprite?" Or he'd go running into Amber's room on her day off and throw himself on top of her at 7 am just to hear her laugh. There was always something he had to say, whether it was to argue a point until you dropped it, or whether he was telling you about his day. He would try and race you in his car, when it wasn't blown up or being fixed. He would see you in the store or the flea market and have to come up and follow close by until you took notice. He saw Amber trying on her Prom dress for last year and said, "Wow, hot looking." Just so hard to believe that he wouldn't be there for you whenever you called or if you needed something, he was the first person there. One would never think of him as depressed or someone who wanted to end his life, but then you don't know how family life is. Justin couldn't take his family life anymore and thought that this was the easiest way out, so this morning he took his own life, not knowing he left behind a large community grieving for the loss of a 17-year-old who had his whole life ahead of him. I went to pick up Patrick at school today because teacher's were so shocked and numb that they weren't teaching. The kids were crying, staff was crying, and all the teachers were setting up little funds to buy flowers with. Justin, you will be missed everyday. I only wish you could have talked to someone instead of drastically taking from us the love you always gave. We love you very much and will always carry a large part of you with us.
