We knew we had a cold front on the way....we were tired of the rain, the dreary days, the mud. We were looking forward to a couple of colder days with blue sky. What we didn't know until a couple days ago was there COULD be a chance for some snow. Of course we knew nothing would stick. Saturday the temps were in the 70's, Sunday hit 78 and felt really good, but slowly started getting cooler. Monday the wind whipped up and the clouds raced across the sky. Monday afternoon around 3:30 I glanced outside when I saw Dixie jumping up and down trying to get something. I thought she was trying to get Poison's tail again...they don't get along....and I noticed that it was either sleet or frozen rain or snow...couldn't really tell at the time. I picked up Patrick and you could see it at the school, mixed in with the pollen, pear blossoms, cherry blossoms, and who knows what else. Going into Clayton to pick up Amber you could see it spitting snow every now and then. At home it would come down for a minute or two and then stop....I figured, okay, this will be interesting seeing we're supposed to have accumulations up to an inch. I knew the ground was way too warm. Early this morning I saw a trace had coated some of the porch and by 6:45 there was a coating on the hood of the trucks and car. All day it came down, sometimes hard, sometimes just a flurry or two, but it came down all day. It's the most snow we've seen this year....too bad it couldn't have stuck!
