One Week Old

They are a week old today. It started about 10 days ago when I looked at Smackie....her nipples looked really large, but they always had been so I dismissed any notion of her being pregnant. After all, I was told she wasn't able to have any, and told by a vet, too. Then 9 days ago I brought her out of her cage and she felt big, but there was nothing moving in her stomach, and later that afternoon she was back to normal, so I thought, wrongly again, that she had just overeaten. Then we go to 8 days ago, I found her throwing up, but running around and chasing after Dixie and Raskull and growling at the cats, nothing big, and her stomach didn't look big when I fed them. Then we go to a week ago. I fed the dogs that morning and Smackie was just laying by the bowl, didn't even growl as Dixie came over to eat. I finished feeding them and giving them water and went inside. A couple hours later I was in Amber's room looking out when I saw Smackie laying in a hole, and licking on something white...her first puppy. She ended up having 7, but one was stillborn, so there are 2 males and 4 females. The 2 males are all white...one is named Vengeance, owned by Patrick and the other is Diablo, owned by Brian, and Amber owns the big sandy colored one. Smackie stopped feeding the pups, so I have been...I found a great puppy formula online...goat's milk, egg yolk, whole yogurt, karo syrup....they're thriving.
