Happy New Year

So it's 2010 and looking back over the year there were good things, and then not good things...

We had another year of all of us being happy, safe, and for the most part, healthy.
Brian kept a job, Amber lost a job, (but her manager was a B**** and she can't understand the concept of having a conversation on a phone and just turning off a phone!)
Amber, Patrick and I got to go on vacation to see family and friends, a good time was had by all.
Danny turned 50, I turned 40....but if you feel younger than your age, that's a good thing. Age is just a number, it's how you feel that really counts.
Brian graduated officially from high school...walking the stage was just a technicality, but it was something he strived for and achieved it.
We had a new baby grandson that entered into our lives.
We also had a few bad things....deaths of loved ones that we never had the chance to say good-bye to.

Danny's Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease....this is one disease we need to find a cure for.
Danny's Dad was diagnosed with Mesothelioma, another terrible disease.
I pray nightly for the health of these two wonderful people. no one could ask for a better mother and father-in-law. Mom and I had our disagreements and our views were different on raising the kids when they were little, but I have to say that all in all, she was right about a lot of things, just as I was. Pop is gruff and loves to tell his stories, watch his racing, no matter who is visiting. He loves his grandchildren, as does Mom, and they both wanted what was best for everyone.

I just hope this coming year blesses us more and makes us grieve less.
